Some last minute details and directions for the Too Hot To Fly Camp-out and Picnic. Download maps at the left, for your convenience.

The SCBA Picnic will be held this Saturday July 11 at 12:00 noon.

The SCBA will provide barbequed tri-tip, grilled chicken, hot dogs and settings. Please bring your own drinks and bring a side dish or desert which will be judged by the board for the tailgate competition. There will also be a fun competition that Kurt is organizing. Points will count towards balloon overall as well as crew and crew cheif points. Sorry, no fly, no pilot points. There will also be a Board of Directors meeting after lunch. The weather is forecast to be sunny and in the 70's so come on out for the day.

Location:
Emma Wood State Beach just north of Ventura, CA

Directions: Take the 101 freeway north past Ventura and past highway 33. Exit at the State Beaches exit number 72 (do not pass or it is 5 miles to the next exit). You will pass through a tunnel under the freeway and on to highway 1. About 2000 feet after you exit the tunnel there is a hard left turn. Follow this road to the kiosk and ask for day use parking. There is an $8.00 per vehicle fee. From there drive to the campground where we will be in spots 39 to 47.

Camping: SCBA members have reserved campsites 39 Pratt, 40 Adelsberger, 41 Ball, 42 Dawson, 43 & 44 Piles, 45 & 46 Oswald, 47 Lynch, 50 Walsh and 52 Graham. Most campers are arriving Friday. Official check in time is 2:00 p.m. but you may be allowed to check in early if your spot is vacant.

What to bring: Sunscreen, E-Z Up or shade device, bicycles, swimsuits, beach towels and blankets, side dish or dessert, drinks, surfboards, body boards and beach toys.

This is a reminder that we will be having the SCBA Too Hot To Fly Camp-out and picnic July 10, 11 & 12 at Emma Wood State Beach in Ventura. This will be the third consecutive year and once again, several SCBA members have purchased several campsites in a row to build a SCBA "compound" on the beach. SCBA members and family have reserved spots 39 to 47 as well as 50 and 52. You must have a campsite reserved in order to camp.

The official SCBA picnic will be held Saturday July 11 at 12:00 noon in the campground for those that just want to come out for the day. As in the past we will provide barbecued Tri-Tip, Chicken and hot dogs. We ask that everyone bring a side dish or dessert (or both!). This year your side dishes will count towards tailgate competition points so be creative! On Saturday we will also have a "fun" competition for balloon and crew points but not for pilot points, so show up if you want your points.
